Frequently Asked Questions

The FAQs below are tailored to women’s health concerns. At FIG Wellness Therapy, we prioritize informed care. You will be treated exclusively by experienced female occupational therapists who care for you with the utmost respect. For more details, please visit our Softwave FAQ page.

What should I do to prepare for my first appointment?

Please fill out the paperwork sent to you via email before your initial appointment. If you haven’t received an email, you can click the New Client Intake Form– Women’s Health. Additionally, we recommend wearing loose clothing that is easy to put on and take off, allowing the therapist easy access to the treatment area. For optimal and effective delivery of SoftWave energy to the treatment area, we highly recommend shaving the designated region prior to your session. This will ensure direct contact and better penetration of the energy into the tissue, maximizing the benefits of the treatment.

How do you give the Softwave treatments?

We’ll guide you step-by-step through the Softwave treatment, always making sure we have your complete agreement before moving forward.
To keep you comfortable, we’ll offer a disposable covering.
For the treatment, we use an ultrasound gel on the applicator and the areas we’re focusing on. Especially in women’s health treatments, we take extra care by using sterile supplies for your protection.
The Softwave applicator, with its capability to reach depths of up to 6 inches (though this depth isn’t always necessary), will be gently applied to areas like the breast, lower abdomen, genital region, or pubic area, depending on your treatment requirements. Softwave is completely non-invasive, free from drugs or invasive techniques. You might notice clicking sounds and feel gentle pulses as they stimulate your tissues, promoting your body’s natural healing process.
We will provide post-treatment instructions for you to follow.
The average session lasts about 25 minutes.

Ho soon can I expect to see improvements?

You’ll likely need multiple sessions, about a week apart, based on what you need and want to achieve. While some people feel better right after a session, this feeling might only last a few days at first. With each session, you should notice longer-lasting relief. The best results usually show up between eight to twelve weeks after you finish all your sessions. After each treatment, try to rest and avoid putting too much strain on the treated area to help it heal.

What is the recovery process after undergoing treatment with the Softwave treatments?

Softwave therapy is non-invasive, meaning it doesn’t involve any surgical procedures. As the entire treatment is conducted externally, you can easily schedule a session during your day and go back to your usual routine or daily tasks right after. There’s no specific downtime required post-treatment.

Do you have more information if I want to learn more?
